I do not list many Buy It Now items, but have some that each time I relist them they have watchers in the first hours, even happens with some of my auctions, that get relisted. There are other reasons people watch items already given, but how is any reason for watching items a waste of their time? Some may be people who are not going to bid until the very end of an auction. True some are possibly other sellers waiting to see if, and for what price your items sell for, or if they get any action at all. While not every person who has your items in their watch list will be a buyer, you should treat watchers as such, and tke that as a positive sign. Instead they are just wasting their time watching them and I really want to get my items sold". Anyway I no longer pay much real attention to this number aside from times I'm checking my pricing against other's listings.if I have many watchers I assume at least some are legitimate potential buyers so I can assume my pricing is in the ballpark even on my worst days they are interested in buying my item, they should just go ahead and buy it then. There's even one item that consistently sells well that NEVER gets watchers-haha.just funny to see. In general I find 30 day listings are best for this account but there are a handful of items that interestingly do better with shorter listings.don't know why.they just do. I have an account that only sells a few dozen things on a regular basis and it's fascinating to watch how the watch numbers fluctuate under different circumstances. Could be competition, could be potential buyers, could be wish-list types, could be simple dreamers with nothing better to do that never do buy anything.etc. This topic comes up often on these boards and the shakeout is basically not to take number of watchers too seriously. Instead they are just wasting their time watching them and I really want to get my items sold. If they are interested in buying my item, they should just go ahead and buy it then. Is there truly no way to find out who is watching an item you're selling? I have people watching my items, and they are buy nows.
